Senj City Museum        
           

The Senj City Museum is situated in the palace of Vukasović family which was one of the most respectable and most influential family in Senj. The palace was built in the 14th and 15th in the Gothic and Renaissance style being the supreme structure of the profane arhitecture of the town of Senj. The Museum was established on the 7th of May 1962. as a cultural and scientific institution whith the aim to collect, preserve, classify, study and adapt present publish and take care of museological, historical and cultural data of the town and its surroundings.

 
               
The museum also houses an archeological collection: lapidarius, a hydro-arheological collection, a collection of the glagolic printing, a collection of weapons and military equipment, a collection of the recent history of Senj, an etnographic collection of the Bunjevac community and a natural scientific collection of the Velebit flora and fauna. A profesional library (Senineisia) whith its older and newer (archivic material), a small collection of art paintings, a collection of photos and picture postcards and the Homeland collection of Lukovo placed in the samenamed place south to Senj are also part of the of the Senj City Museum. The Museum has good contacts with many other similar institutions not only in Croatia but in Europe as well. It publishes, in co-operation with the Museological society of Senj, the profesional periodical - "The Proceedings of Senj".

- for single visit: children - 7,00 kn, adults - 15,00 kn
- for organized visit (groups with more than 20 visitors):
